Rendcomb Independent Private School Cheltenham: A Wills School.

You will hear the name ‘Wills’ often in the context of the school. As an independent Private school near Cheltenham, the school has benefitted from the stewardship of Wills family for nearly 100 years, following the Foundation of Rendcomb, by Noel Wills. The Founder’s vision is intact, with the aim of an inclusive and broad-ranging education for its pupils, realised through clearly identified values, such as a respect for learning and a strong tradition of boarding (the school does not have day houses). The school has established bursaries to open up possibilities for families from all backgrounds.

As with any Independent private school near Cheltenham, there is competition for bursaries and scholarships. The school’s priority is to
seek candidates who demonstrate the potential to flourish and benefit most from the ethos of the school.
As is, again, the case for most Independent Private schools near Cheltenham, Sixth Form admissions are limited to those with good passes at GCSE or equivalent and at least B grades or equivalent in subjects to be studied in the Sixth Form (sometimes more for some subjects such as Mathematics) and a satisfactory reference from the applicant’s current school.
